Catacombs of kom al shoqafa
The cemetery of Kom el-Shoqafa was discovered in 1900 and consists of three floors underground. It was a private cemetery in the Roman era and was later transformed into a mass grave.

The New Library of Alexandria was established in 2002 in the same place as the old library dating back to the era of Alexander the Great, in which a major fire broke out in 280 BC.
